I’m so glad you’re here! This is a corner of the internet dedicated to curiosity, complexity, and community. You’ll find resources for deepening your understanding of tarot, efforts to put tarot in conversation with other spiritual modalities like astrology and numerology, and tons of suggestions for how to bring esoteric information down to earth.
Why “Perennial Tarot?”
I’m a big believer in holding shadow & light simultaneously. Where there is death, there is also life. While there is joy, there is also pain. It’s all part of the same cycle and you don’t get one without the other. I love perennial plants because they embody that principle perfectly. Death is an inherent part of their perpetual rebirth. The flower at the center of my logo is actually purple cone flower, or echinacea—a perennial native to Texas that blooms in our garden each spring.
I bring this “both at once” philosophy to the cards. No card is “good” or “bad.” Each is capable of meeting us exactly where we are in a given moment—good, bad, and magical. I especially love using tarot to help myself and others navigate change, viewing moments of tension and transition as part of life’s larger cycles.
WHO I AM
Hey, I’m Sarah.
I picked up my first tarot deck in 2024, after reading The Witching Year by Diana Helmuth and getting curious about occult practices. After stumbling out of the fundamentalist evangelical tradition, I was looking for a different spiritual path to walk—one defined by curiosity and inclusivity, rather than dogma and restriction.
Tarot was a natural choice for me. I loved the art, lore, and history bound up in each card even before I fully understood what they all meant. Unsurprisingly, the more I learned, the deeper I fell in love—with the cards, and with the community of people who use, study, and read them.
When I’m not hanging out with my cards, I’m probably spending time with my husband and our six rescue animals. I love to read (ALL SORTS OF THINGS, but especially fantasy, romance, and anything with an underdog), dance, crochet, and meander through conversations over wine or coffee. I swear like a sailor and think laughter is its own kind of magic.
